January

This fourth photo series took part during the month of January, during which I was still off school from Christmas break. Luckily, the Robert Mapplethorpe exposition was being presented at the Musée des Beaux-Arts de Montréal, so my friend and I decided that it would be a good use of our time to go spend an afternoon at the museum.

I was especially excited, due to the fact that the exposition in question was of photography, Mapplethorpe being an important photographer having covered controversial themes such as nudity. That afternoon, my friend and I were absolutely mesmerized by his work that seemed so symmetrical and perfect, almost as though the objects were not actually photographs but statues. As always, my camera had accompanied my on this trip to the museum, so once we had finished viewing the exposition for the second time, we decided to head off and visit other parts of the museum. In fact, we found out that it was filled with many neat little areas perfectly suited for picture taking, which is what we ended up doing for the remaining part of the outing. Along with impressive views of our city, the museum offered other interesting expositions that we took advantage of, suffice to say that we learned more that day about Antiquity than in our history classes at school.

All in all, the pictures from the month of January are all of the ones from my visit to the museum, so without further ado here they are.
